Frequently Asked Questions

Classes and Workshops

I’ve paid a deposit online. When do I pay the balance?
The balance is payable in full at the beginning of class on the first day of the pottery course, camp or workshop.

What should I wear?
You should wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting messy.

Will we get to use a pottery wheel in class?
No, we don’t use the pottery wheel. The classes and workshops concentrate on hand building skills where you will learn to make pieces using slab, pinch and coil pottery.

Will I be able to bring home all my work at the end of the final class?
All your work will need to be dried glazed and twice fired before being ready for collection. Pieces are generally ready for collection approximately 3-4 weeks after the course or workshop finishes.

What if I cancel?
If you are unable to attend the course or workshop, please notify me via email at least 10 days before the start date and I will issue you with a full refund of your deposit. If you cancel less than 10 days before the start date I will be unable to refund your deposit unless your place can be filled.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Yes. If you are unable to attend you can transfer your place to someone else. Just send me an email to let me know their name and contact details.

Do you take bookings for private groups?
Yes. I’m always delighted to accommodate a private group. Private group bookings must have a minimum of 6 and I can cater for up to 12 people. If you would like to make a group booking please phone or email to discuss your requirements. You can get me at or phone +353 86 331 7756.

Where are you located?
I produce all of my pottery in my home studio which is 5 minutes drive from the lake at Lough Gur near Bruff in Limerick, Ireland.

Can I visit your workshop?
As I work from a private home studio it is not possible to visit my workshop at present.

Where can I buy your work?
I mainly sell my work online as well as at craft fairs. Follow me on Instagram and Facebook to keep up to date with where my work will be available.

Do you hand make all of your own pottery?
Yes, everything is handmade. I mainly use the traditional hand building techniques of slab, pinch and coil.

What temperature do you fire to?
All of my pottery is made from durable stoneware clay. It is twice fired, initially to 999°C in the bisque firing and then to 1200°C in the glaze firing.

What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards. Payment is taken through Stripe. It is safe and secure and we do not hold your financial details on file. Orders will be shipped once payment has been processed.
